Mission and Vision

"Assume Nothing. Teach Everything."

This guiding principle captures the core of Dr. Johnson’s leadership philosophy: success happens when clarity is intentional, instruction is explicit, and accountability is structured. Whether in classrooms, boardrooms, hospitals, or operational teams, his message remains consistent—what is not taught cannot be expected, and what is not defined cannot be sustained.

Assume Nothing, Teach Everything (ANTE)

ANTE is built on a simple but powerful truth: clarity is the foundation of effective leadership and learning. In too many organizations, adults assume that expectations, routines, and goals are understood—when in fact they have never been explicitly taught. ANTE replaces assumption with intentional instruction. Leaders and educators must teach every expectation, every routine, and every accountability measure as clearly as they would teach an academic standard.

ANTE shifts leadership and teaching from hoping to knowing. In practice, this means:

  • Explicitly defining what success looks like for students, teachers, and leaders.
  • Modeling and rehearsing key routines before holding anyone accountable.
  • Building feedback loops that catch misunderstandings early and reteach as needed.
  • Aligning every system—from classroom procedures to boardroom meetings—around clearly taught expectations.

Rather than assuming a teacher knows how to give actionable feedback, ANTE trains them. Rather than assuming students understand group work norms, ANTE teaches and practices them. The framework applies equally to instruction, operations, and leadership.
